›I wouldn't really call this a tactical RPG, nor would i recommend it to anyone for the sake of the gameplay. While my opinion on this should be taken with a grain of salt, I do recommend never playing this on hard, the combat in this game is going to end up being completely random (to the point where it takes constant save/loading to advance) Case in point, later mobs get a chance to instantly kill any character they hit, get something of a 20% chance to evade an attack regardless of your characters hit ratio and much much more.
It's getting to the point where I think the game makers have just been trolling, no one can seriously consider basing the entire gameplay around luck to be a good idea. To make matters worse, level up skill gains are again, completely random, and unless you waste a lot of time trying to break the system they have in place to prevent just save-scumming better level ups your characters can go from hero to zero in just a couple of levels. I had one character be an amazing tank that was nearly unkillable for most of the middle portion of the game, now at the end she can't kill a single mob and dies to everything because for 20 or so levels she got nothing but hp and no other stat. Seriously, don't play on hard.I have reached a game breaking situation in Kamidori Alchemy Meister. I only save under one save. Also this is why you should always use multiple save files.This game isn't about tactics, preparation or planning, it's completely about luck and in most cases little to no preparation is required (tried to see the difference between meticulous preparation and just rushing in blindly and little changed) It's like chess, but your pieces have a random chance to explode, enjoy. Ehh, you're doing it wrong.

Certain characters are better at things than others, and it doesn't always last, the 30-50 area is where you have to pay attention to stat caps. Some have incredibly low ones, but they start near the cap. Also, events unlock stat caps and give new skills as well.
So a tank that's unkillable at level 30, is probably shit at level 45 if you didn't uncap her.As for the characters with instant kills, yeah, there's a few. But that can be mitigated with A: High dark resist. B: Natural dark characters. As for missing, that's called the Evasion skill, it's a flat 10-15-20% bonus depending on the level, and can be completely negated with Focus.
